Defensive scoring in fantasy football depends more on weekly matchups than maybe any other position. There are very few true every-week starting options out there, and all but the absolute worst defenses can be worth using if they're in the right matchup.

Every week there are plenty of defenses worth starting that are available on the waiver wire, and it pays to be vigilant in keeping up with the best weekly plays at the position.

With that said, here are the top three fantasy football streaming defenses for Week 4, all of which are owned in fewer than 50 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Football leagues.

3. Denver Broncos vs Jacksonville Jaguars (35% Owned)

Maybe the most disappointing defense in fantasy football this season, the Denver Broncos don't have a single sack, interception or fumble recovery. This week's matchup puts them in a great spot to bounce back, though. The Jacksonville Jaguars are 3-point underdogs on the road in a game with a mere 38.5-point over/under, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, meaning the Broncos' defense is expected to hold the Jags firmly in check. The opportunity to play with a lead, which is not something they've had often this year, should open up more pass-heavy situations for the Broncos' defense and create more opportunities to generate sacks and turnovers. The Broncos ranked top-10 in sacks and top-5 in interceptions just one year ago, and this year's personnel isn't much different than what they had on the field in 2018.

2. Kansas City Chiefs at Detroit Lions (27% Owned)

The Kansas City Chiefs' defense continues to offer fantasy value by virtue of being heavy favorites. This week's spread favors KC over the Detroit Lions by six points on the road, and even in a potential shootout, being heavily favored often correlates well with fantasy scoring. The Lions have allowed at least seven fantasy points to two of their three opposing defenses in 2019, and they are one of only seven teams to have allowed at least 11 quarterback hits in a single game this year.

1. Indianapolis Colts vs Oakland Raiders (15% Owned)

The Indianapolis Colts' pass rush has fared well this year, with a top-10 sack rate of 7.7 percent. The Oakland Raiders are also allowing an above-average 6.7 percent sack rate and have given up 18 fantasy points to opposing defenses in the past two weeks. The Colts are favored by a touchdown at home, and they sit fifth among defenses in our Week 4 fantasy football rankings.
