Top Cubs Pitching Prospect Set for MLB Debut on Saturday Night

The 2022 MLB season hasn't exactly been easy going for the Chicago Cubs, who sit at 22-30 and in fourth place in the NL Central division. Fortunately, the slow start offers Chicago an opportunity to take true stock of its top minor league prospects with the likes of Christopher Morel and others.
That trend continues on Saturday when top pitching prospect Caleb Kilian will make his MLB debut against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Kilian is ranked No. 5 overall in Chicago's minor leagues, according to MLB.com, as the highest-rated pitcher on the list. The 2019 draft pick from Texas Tech originally began his career with the San Francisco Giants, joining Chicago in the Kris Bryant trade.
The 6-foot-4 righty has been brilliant with Triple-A Iowa, pitching to a 2.06 ERA in nine starts while allowing just 0.2 home runs per nine innings.
FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds show the Cubs as -112 moneyline favorites in the nightcap, giving Kilian an opportunity to secure his first MLB win.
