Top 5 Rookie Quarterbacks for 2021 Fantasy Football Season

The quarterback position was obviously the big story of the 2021 NFL Draft. With QBs making up each of the first three picks and a total of five going off the board in Round 1, this year's draft could change the makeup of the NFL for years to come.
But with few of these rookie guaranteed to open the season with starting jobs, who can we trust in fantasy football?
Here are the top-five fantasy football rookie quarterbacks for 2021.
Best Rookie Quarterbacks for Fantasy Football
5. Mac Jones, New England Patriots
Mac Jones' draft stock seemed to surge in the days before the draft, but ultimately he was the fifth QB off the board, and he is a safe bet to open the year on the bench behind Cam Newton in New England. The Patriots' offense doesn't offer a great supporting cast either, making Jones a long-shot to have any real fantasy football impact as a rookie.
4. Zach Wilson, New York Jets
Zach Wilson will likely be his team's Week 1 starter, but that's not necessarily a valuable role in the New York Jets' offense. There are plenty of new faces in New York, but it's hard to get too excited about a team that just scored the leagues' fewest points (by a big margin) in 2020.
3. Justin Fields, Chicago Bears
Justin Fields kind of mixes the issues that pop up for Jones and Wilson, but to a less extreme degree. He should have an easier job taking over as the QB1 considering his competition is Andy Dalton, and while the Chicago Bears' offense is nothing special, he will have superstar Allen Robinson to throw the ball to.
2. Trey Lance, San Francisco 49ers
If Trey Lance can take over the reins from Jimmy Garoppolo, his upside should be huge. Kyle Shanahan is one of the best offensive minds in the game, and his San Francisco 49ers ranked No. 12 in the NFL in passing despite starting three different quarterbacks in 2020. What really makes Lance so exciting, though, is his rushing ability. Recent years have shown us just how valuable rushing QBs can be in fantasy football, and Lance turned in an RB-esque 1,100 yards and 14 touchdowns in his last full season.
1. Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
Trevor Lawrence was a lock to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft for a long time, and he's the best QB prospect the league has seen in a long time. The Jacksonville Jaguars' offense quietly has some solid talent (including DJ Chark, fellow rookie Travis Etienne and Laviska Shenault), and it shouldn't be hard for Urban Meyer to get Lawrence rolling. With that being said, Lawrence is still not an especially exciting pick unless you're playing in a 2QB league. He checks in at QB16 (best among rookies at the position) in The Duel's 2021 fantasy football rankings.
