Defenses are sometimes left as an afterthought in fantasy football, but Week 5 served as a reminder as to just how important they can be. Anyone who got 26 points from the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday can attest to that.

With that in mind, here are our fantasy football defense rankings for Week 6.

Best Fantasy Defense for Week 6

12. Houston Texans (at Tennessee Titans)

11. Cleveland Browns (at Pittsburgh Steelers)

10. Miami Dolphins (vs. New York Jets)

9. Chicago Bears (at Carolina Panthers)

8. Tennessee Titans (vs Houston Texans)

7. Carolina Panthers (vs. Chicago Bears)

6. New York Giants (vs. Washington Football Team)

The New York Giants defense may not be an exciting real-world unit, but they just notched 11 fantasy points against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5, topping their previous season-high of 9 points from Week 2. Now they get the Washington Football team, who will be starting Kyle Allen, who threw just 17 touchdowns to 16 interceptions last year. Washington also gave up a ridiculous 8 sacks last week, and the Giants sport an above-average 21.1 percent pressure rate (No. 12 in the NFL) on the year.

5. New England Patriots (vs. Denver BRoncos)

4. Pittsburgh Steelers (vs. Cleveland Browns)

The Cleveland Browns' offense has shown some life lately, but no team has recorded a pressure (sack, hurry or knockdown) on a higher percentage of opposing dropbacks than the Pittsburgh Steelers. It's not close, either, as Pittsburgh's 38.1 percent rate destroys the number-two mark of 30.9 percent. That incredible pass rush has the Steelers' D ranking third among all teams with 9.0 fantasy points per game.

3. Los Angeles Rams (at San Francisco 49ers)

2. Indianapolis Colts (vs. Cincinnati Bengals)

1. Baltimore Ravens (at Philadelphia Eagles)

The top-scoring fantasy defense of 2020 so far, the Baltimore Ravens have put up an average of 13.8 fantasy points per game. They've yet to post fewer than 6 points in a game while also eclipsing 15 fantasy points on three occasions (Week 1, 2 and 5). Carson Wentz has thrown 2 interceptions in four of five games this season (and 1 in the other), being sacked a total of 19 times. Look for the Ravens to continue feasting in this spot.
