Defensive scoring in fantasy football has been huge in the 2019 season, and there have already been 16 instances of a defense eclipsing 20 fantasy points. Additionally, the New England Patriots defense ranks 11th among players at all positions with an average of 19.2 standard scoring fantasy points per game.

Defensive production can be volatile though, and the top unit for a given week can depend heavily on the matchups each defense draws. With that in mind, here are our top 12 fantasy football defenses for Week 11 of the 2019 NFL season.

12. Washington Redskins vs New York Jets

Not a defense you're going to see in the top-12 often, the Washington Redskins get a terrific matchup against the New York Jets in Week 11. The Jets are allowing more fantasy points per game to opposing defenses than any other team in 2019, and the last time Washington played a team allowing top-five numbers (the Miami Dolphins) they scored a season-high 10 fantasy points.

11. Cleveland Browns vs Pittsburgh Steelers

10. Indianapolis Colts vs Jacksonville Jaguars

9. Carolina Panthers vs Atlanta Falcons

8. New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

7. Oakland Raiders vs Cincinnati Bengals

Another defense you won't usually see make the top-12, the Oakland Raiders also get a great matchup. The Cincinnati Bengals are one of only seven teams allowing double-digit fantasy points per game to defenses, and Oakland just exploded for a season-high 17 fantasy points in Week 10. They've now scored at least eight fantasy points in three of their last six games, and have proven to be more than capable of solid production in the right matchup. They're also sitting as 10.5-point favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook.

6. Baltimore Ravens vs Houston Texans

5. Minnesota Vikings vs Denver Broncos

4. Los Angeles Rams vs Chicago Bears

The Los Angeles Rams defense has scored at least nine fantasy points in each of the last three games, but it's not that high floor that should catch your eye. They've been absolute menaces getting to the quarterback, with 26 QB hits and 13 sacks in that time, and that has them with at least 19 fantasy points in two of the last three. The Chicago Bears' offense has been terrible lately, and as 6.5-point favorites the Rams should have plenty of opportunities to get after Mitch Trubisky in obvious passing situations.

3. New England Patriots at Philadelphia Eagles

2. Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins

1. San Francisco 49ers vs Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals have done a great job limiting turnovers this season, but their struggles in pass protection continue to make them an exploitable fantasy matchup. Kyler Murray has been sacked 31 times through 10 games, and that pace should only get worse against the San Francisco 49ers and their league-leading 11.7 percent sack rate. The Niners' defense disappointed in their first meeting with the Cardinals, but they're still an elite play this week.
