It's clearly an unfortunate reality of the 2021 NFL season that COVID is going to continue playing a role in how things shake out.
Things will be especially cloudy for fans as vaccinated and unvaccinated players have different rules and restrictions, but information about who is and isn't vaccinated is not made public. Being placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list also doesn't mean a player has tested positive — things like close contact for unvaccinated players can land you on the list.
That leaves some room for concern in Tennessee after it was announced that Titans QB Ryan Tannehill was placed on the COVID list on Thursday.
Ryan Tannehill COVID List
The good news is, even 10 days would have Tannehill back in action by Monday, Sept. 6 — the first day of Week 1 practice.
For now, Titans fans will just have to cross their fingers and hope that Tannehill is healthy and that he'll be back in action as soon as possible.
FanDuel Sportsbook's Week 1 NFL odds have the Titans as 3-point home favorites against the Arizona Cardinals, but that would change quickly if Tannehill's status came into question.
