Timetable for Drew Brees Return Revealed

New Orleans Saints star quarterback Drew Brees has been working his way back from a litany of injuries, which include multiple cracked ribs and a punctured lung. With injuries that significant, it was initially up in the air for how long Brees would be sidelined.
However, as we enter Week 14 and Brees is officially off the IR, making him technically eligible to return, we are getting more concrete news on when he will actually be on the field again, and it's really encouraging news for Saints fans.
The Saints will take a cautious approach with Brees, who they need most for the playoffs. The team will see how he looks on Thursday, and go from there.
#Saints QB Drew Brees, progressing well in his rehab from a lung puncture & fractured ribs, won’t practice much, if at all, today, I’m told. He’s eligible to come off IR now. They could ramp him up Thursday to see how he feels, but a more realistic target to play has been W15.

They already clinched a playoff berth, so entering the postseason as healthy as possible is priority No. 1 in New Orleans, and Brees is the most important piece.
While it is very encouraging that Brees is even being considered to be able to play in Week 14, keeping him on the shelf until Week 15 or 16 might be the wisest move long term. Regardless, its all positive vibes for New Orleans this week and beyond as they prepare for yet another run at a Super Bowl
