Robert Saleh earned a reputation as a player's coach during his time as the San Francisco 49ers' defensive coordinator. It was hard to miss him patrolling the sidelines in San Francisco. He'd pound his chest, pump his fists and hype up his guys with a really unique flair. He just seemed like someone you'd want to go to battle with and for.

Saleh left the 49ers to take the head coaching job with the New York Jets this offseason, and the comments he's made thus far have only cemented that awesome reputation.

This comment by Saleh will go over well in the locker room: ?

That has to be music to the Jets' players' ears. It seems like he genuinely looks out and wants the best for his players in a business where that isn't always the case.

In terms of rebuilding the Jets, who have finished under .500 in five consecutive seasons, Saleh certainly has a long way to go. But it looks like he's off to a great start.
