Bill Belichick has solidified himself as one of the greatest coaches of all time, regardless of sport. He has been known for two things: winning Super Bowls and coming across very grumpy with the media.
That's why it's so funny to look back on old pictures of coach Belichick.
While it has been mentioned that Belichick is not the grumpy character in the locker room that we see on the postgame podium, it's still tough to imagine the New England Patriots coach portraying any true sense of joy. In fact, this photo from 1987 could very well be the last documented evidence of Belichick smiling, outside of when he's running up the score on the opponent.
But this photo of an even-younger Belichick is somehow even tougher to comprehend.
Now 68 years old, Belichick faces one of his toughest tasks ever this season, as he'll be asked to lead the Patriots without Tom Brady.
If the Patriots make a statement and continue their winning ways this season, it solidifies Belichick's greatness even further, which could lead to another rare, seemingly forced smile from the New England head coach.
