The Seattle Seahawks fell inches short of winning the NFC West and changing the NFC playoff picture. Instead, after a disastrous non-call on a play that could've easily been ruled pass interference, the Seahawks will face the Philadelphia Eagles on the road as the No. 5 seed.

Despite the Week 17 loss, Seattle still finished the season at 11-5, posting the fourth-best record in the NFC. However, the Seahawks' updated odds to win the Super Bowl don't seem to reflect that impressive season. In fact, Seattle might be one of the most disrespected teams in the NFL, according to the odds.

The Seahawks are available at +2500 to win the Super Bowl, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. That gives Seattle just the seventh-best odds to win it all, and puts them well behind a Green Bay Packers team that has the fifth-best odds (+850), and only marginally ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles (+3400), who the Seahawks will face in the Wild Card Game.

The thing is, there's plenty of data that points to Seattle being better than Green Bay. With Russell Wilson at the helm, Seattle is the league's fifth-best offense by Football Outsiders' DVOA metric, while Green Bay checks in at No. 8. Wilson also tops Aaron Rodgers in pretty much every statistical category this season.

Last night's loss did take away the Seahawks' chance at having home-field advantage, but Seattle has been flat-out dominant on the road this season. The Seahawks went 7-1 on the road in 2019, including wins over the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles, so that shouldn't be too much of a concern.

Additionally, the Seahawks' propensity for playing in close games might be a knock against them, as 10 of Seattle's 11 wins have come in one-score games. But that stat can also work in Seattle's favor, as it suggests Wilson and the Seahawks can deliver when it matters most, which certainly helps come January.

The potential for the Seahawks to make a Super Bowl run is there, especially with Wilson having arguably the best statistical year of his career. The defense, which ranks No. 18 by DVOA, might have to step it up, but it's tough to rule out a team with this much talent.
