We knew Teddy Bridgewater was destined to get another chance to be an NFL starting quarterback when he led the Saints to a 5-0 record while replacing an injured Drew Brees. An unrestricted free agent, he chose to sign with one of the Saints' division rivals — the Carolina Panthers.

This landing spot may not put him in a great spot to be in playoff contention in the near future, but it is a good spot for his fantasy football value.

First up, he'll be playing with one of the NFL's best offensive players in Christian McCaffrey. Sure, rushing plays aren't going to help Bridgewater's fantasy output, but McCaffrey produces like a wide receiver in the passing game.

When targeted, McCaffrey generated a total of 54.2 fantasy points for his QBs last year — not far behind Panthers' WR1 D.J. Moore (58.0) and beating out WR2 Curtis Samuel (48.1).

Then there are the wide receiver weapons Bridgewater gets to work with. Moore and Samuel are both looking like promising up-and-coming wideouts — especially Moore, who has averaged 9.0 yards per target in his first two NFL seasons.

The Panthers also added Robby Anderson in free agency, giving them a high-upside playmaker on the outside. Since Anderson entered the league in 2016, his 14.8 yards per reception rank sixth among the 54 players with 200-plus catches.

Bridgewater favored short passes heavily in 2019 (his 6.2-yard average depth of target would have ranked dead-last among qualifying QBs if he had played enough games), but there's a big difference in being asked to hold down the fort on an established team and being asked to lead an offense as the franchise quarterback.

The addition of Anderson is a good sign that the Panthers will look to have Bridgewater making big plays, and he's surrounded with more than enough talent to be a strong fantasy football asset in 2020.
