Steelers Re-Sign Young Linebacker Ahead of Free Agency

The PIttsburgh Steelers have a lot of work to do this offseason if they want to continue progressing toward contenders. After once again managing to finish .500 or better last season, despite poor quarterback play, the Steelers are already making moves ahead of free agency.
On Tuesday, the team announced it had re-signed linebacker Jamir Jones.

Jones bounced around between three teams (one of them being the Steelers) during his rookie year in 2021. He spent all of 2022 in Pittsburgh, though.
Jones appeared in 17 games last season for Pittsburgh, but a lot of that was on special teams, so he wasn't provided too much opportunity of defense. Perhaps the Steelers see that changing in 2023.
Pittsburgh looks ahead to the rest of NFL free agency in mid-March and April's 2023 NFL Draft, where they own the 17th pick.
