Steelers Lineman's Funny NFL Dream is 'Officially Dead' After Being Named Starting Right Tackle

Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Zack Banner had a dream of one day making a catch in an NFL game. That might not sound like too tall of a task, but as an NFL offensive lineman, those opportunities simply do not come around that often.

While there may have been an off chance Banner would have been given the opportunity, now that he has been named the starting right tackle in Pittsburgh, offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner says that dream is "officially dead."

As the starting right tackle, Banner will pretty much lose any chance he may have had of becoming an eligible receiver as an extra blocker on a play. While that spot many times is left up to the tight end or an extra wide receiver, there are plenty of instances where an extra lineman has been used and is actually declared as an eligible receiver, even if he won't be running a route on the play.

It's tough to lose the chance at fulfilling a dream like that, but Banner will probably make that sacrifice in order to grab that starting spot every week.
