The Pittsburgh Steelers' tough 2022 season has been made a lot tougher by a rash of injuries, especially in the secondary.

Ahkello Witherspoon made it through only three games before getting hurt, and replacement Josh Jackson was out in Week 7 after getting the start in Week 6's upset win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Pittsburgh got some good news on both Witherspoon and Jackson on Thursday's injury report, however.

Having practiced in full for two days in a row, Witherspoon looks like all but a lock to be back on the field against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Jackson is still a much bigger question mark though, getting in just a limited practice after missing Wednesday's.

Witherspoon only played nine games in 2021, but he was highly effective in his first year with the Steelers, earning an overall grade of 75.9 from ProFootballFocus.

Of course, even a fully healthy defense would have a hard time against the Eagles' offense. Philly ranks No. 5 in the NFL in yards and No. 4 in points per game.

FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds have Pittsburgh as a massive 10.5-point underdog in Week 8.
