Pittsburgh Steelers rookie defensive lineman DeMarvin Leal was back on the practice field on Wednesday, an encouraging sign for the third-round pick who the franchise remains high on.

DeMarvin Leal Injury Update

After being place on IR following the team's Week 5 game, Leal seems posied for a return soon. The Steelers will have 21 days to activate the rookie now that he has returned to the practice field.

Leal has played in a total of five games so far this season, while he only saw the field for 41% of defensive snaps in his last game, he saw a steady increase in that number from Weeks 1 through 5. You would have to assume that trajectory would have continued, and it still might once the rookie gets his game legs back under him.

Leal has 9 tackles, 1 tackles for loss and even 3 passes defended in his five games, some encouraging signs from a defensive lineman not on the field all that much.

The Steelers take on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11, where they are 4.5-point home underdogs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
