The Colorado Avalanche sit in a 3-2 series hole with their backs against the wall heading into a must-win Game 6 against the San Jose Sharks in the second round of the 2019 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs on Monday night.

The Avalanche are -130 moneyline favorites at home in Denver, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. As it's always smart to hear what those in the industry have to say before placing a bet, here are some expert predictions for Monday night's game.

Sharks vs Avalanche Predictions

Derek Patrick, of, predicts San Jose will steal Game 6 on the road. Patrick expects another strong performance from Sharks' goaltender Martin Jones and notes the Sharks are 26-12 in their last 38 games after a win.

The PicksWise staff predicts that the Avalanche will win in a nail-biter at home and force a Game 7. The PicksWise staff notes that Colorado's advantage on its home ice might be too much for the Sharks, as the Avalanche have lost just once at home during the postseason.

Sports Interaction

The Sports Interaction staff predicts that the Avalanche will force a Game 7 back in San Jose and beat the Sharks, 4-2. They do note, though, that a possible return by San Jose's Joe Pavelski could tip the scales in the Sharks' favor.

Overall, two of the three expert predictions highlighted above expect Colorado to defend home ice with a win, while is backing the Sharks to close out the series on the road Monday night and punch their ticket to the Western Conference Finals.
