With the NFL season rapidly approaching, fans have been taking a close look at how other major sports leagues' return to play has gone.

The contrast between the NBA's nearly flawless restart and the MLB's struggles with COVID-19 breakouts has given New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton a great idea.

The "bubble" concept has done wonders for the NBA, as zero players have tested positive in the bubble. The MLB, on the other hand, is playing without a bubble and has teams traveling across the country.

That has led to a number of positive tests and cancellations, creating a strange new set of circumstances. For example, the Chicago Cubs have played 22 games thus far while their division-rival St. Louis Cardinals have only played 11.

The start of the 2020 NFL season is too close to make a bubble realistic, and quarantining for an entire season would likely be too much to ask of the players and coaches.

Instead, playing the regular season as planned and quarantining for the playoffs could be a great compromise.

Whatever the league decides, the MLB has shown sports fans that without a bubble the possibility of cancelled games is always going to be looming this season.
