It's always a good thing whenever an NFL coach is dedicated to their job, however, sometimes that dedication can be taken a bit too far. Some head coaches, including the Buffalo Bills' Sean McDermott, have slept in their offices overnight after spending hours reviewing film while prepping for the next game.

While that sort of strategy might work for some, McDermott is ready to move on from that life. Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier confirmed and told The Buffalo News that the 48-year-old is "not one of those guys who will sleep at the office anymore" as he strives for a better work-life balance.

Ever since this year's minicamp began, McDermott has been open about wanting to spend more time with his wife and kids. He plans on taking time to "unplug" after the next few days and take time with his family to "enjoy a little bit of what life has to offer."

"I think that perspective is good. And then we fire back up at the end of July, and we get this thing cranked up all the way here.”

Frazier added that McDermott spending time with his family could be a positive thing for the Bills as a team. Not only does it reinforce the importance of family, but the Buffalo DC also sees it as a way to let players know that their life off of the field is just as important as their on-field careers.

The Bills have been one of the best teams in recent history, tallying 34 regular-season victories since the start of 2020 (T-No. 3). Unfortunately, a Super Bowl appearance has alluded them over that stretch, so perhaps McDermott's new philosophy could be the turning point they need.

The pressure is on for the Bills, who own the best Super Bowl LVII odds (+650) on FanDuel Sportsbook. It remains to be seen if McDermott's new work-life balance produces the first championship in franchise history.
