Seahawks Fans Will Love Pete Carroll’s Comments on D.K. Metcalf Extension

The trade of franchise quarterback Russell Wilson could shake up the Seattle Seahawks' plans for other players this offseason. That includes pursuing a potential contract extension for D.K. Metcalf, who could net the team a bountiful return if he was shopped.
D.K. Metcalf Trade Rumors
However, head coach Pete Carroll has made it clear where the Seahawks stand on getting an extension done.
Pete Carroll says on @933KJR Seahawks will try hard to re-sign DK Metcalf before 2022 season begins: "It's really important to us. We love him. He maybe will go down as one of the great draft picks we've ever had here.

"We are going to do everything we can to get it done."
D.K. Metcalf Contract
Carroll said a Metcalf extension is "really important to us" and the team will do "everything we can" to retain the rising wideout. It's certainly a strong stance that indicates a trade doesn't appear to be on the table, which is a relief.
Metcalf has shown he's one of the most promising young receivers in the league since being drafted by Seattle in 2019. He's recorded three straight seasons with at least 900 yards yards and 7 TDs while dominating opposing teams with size.
His 2020 campaign remains his best so far, racking up 83 receptions, 1,303 yards and 10 TDs while earning Second Team All-Pro and Pro Bowl nods.
Metcalf's loyalty to the team hasn't wavered since the Wilson deal as well. He recently came to new QB Drew Lock's defense, showcasing that he can be a leader in Seattle for years to come as the team enters a new era.
