The Seattle Seahawks took home the victory in Week 1 thanks to a heavy dose of the rushing attack and will look to do the same on Sunday afternoon. They will have to play without their top backup running back, though. Rashaad Penny is not expected to suit up against the Tennessee Titans due to a lingering calf injury.

Rashaad Penny Injury Update

Penny has not practiced all week after he reaggravated a calf strain early on in the season opener. The 25-year-old ball-carrier left after just seven snaps and could end up missing a few more games. Penny finished with 8 yards on 2 carries in a 28-16 win against the Indianapolis Colts.

It is expected that Alex Collins will step up as the secondary back behind starter Chris Carson. Collins was inactive in Week 1, but did rack up 77 yards and 2 touchdowns on 18 carries during a short stint with Seattle last season. Deejay Dallas and Travis Homer could see a bit more receiving work as well.

This isn't the news Seahawks fans wanted to hear as Penny's young career has been marred by injuries so far. In fact, he has missed 21 regular season games in three NFL seasons. Keep in mind that this is a contract year for Penny after Seattle declined to pick up his fifth-year option.

The Seahawks will look to move to 2-0 on the year when they host the Tennessee Titans in their first home game of 2021 at 4:25 p.m. EST. Seattle is slated as a 6.5 point favorite in that game, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
