The 2022 NFL Draft featured a total of 262 prospects being selected by teams across the league and a number of undrafted free agents signed deals afterwards as well. The entire process acted a jolt for NFL fans as anticipation for the season is starting to rise ahead of the schedule release on May 12.

Keep in mind fans already know the opponents their favorite team will play in 2022, just not specific dates or order. The New Orleans Saints will look to turn a new leaf under head coach Dennis Allen and return to the postseason, but finishing with a winning record in 2022 may be tougher than they think.

Saints Schedule 2022

Sports Illustrated's Zach Koons put together a strength of schedule metric based on the known opponents and their 2021 regular-season records. The Saints find themselves toward the top of the list with the fifth-hardest schedule in the NFC and tied for the seventh-hardest schedule overall.

It's never going to be easy considering New Orleans matches up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers twice a year in the NFC South. The Bucs have posted an impressive record of 24-9 since 2020. The Saints also finished 2-2 last season in matchups against the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers.

New Orleans will be tasked with taking on opponents from the AFC North and NFC West divisions as well. All eight of those teams posted at least 7 wins in 2021 and four of them posted 10 or more victories. Matchups against the Las Vegas Raiders and Philadelphia Eagles only add to the madness.

The Saints will look to exceed expectations by relying on quarterback Jameis Winston to get the job done. Oddsmakers don't see that happening, though, and give New Orleans +4400 odds to win Super Bowl 57, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Those chances rank 21st in the NFL.
