The official return to practice has led to some early injuries popping up around the league from training camp workouts. The New Orleans Saints were no strangers to significant health problems in 2021, so they're hoping for better luck on that front this year.
Unfortunately, it appears Taysom Hill has been bit by the injury bug in the early going.
Taysom Hill Injury Update
Hill has suffered a rib injury, according to head coach Dennis Allen. It sounds like it's more on the serious side as the veteran has been ruled out "indefinitely."
This certainly isn't the start Hill wanted to get off to. He was already coming off of an injury-plagued 2021 campaign where he suffered foot, head and finger ailments. Hill then went under the knife for a Lisfranc injury he sustained in Week 18 as well.
Being sidelined for potentially several weeks will obviously hurt the almost 32-year-old as he transitions full-time to tight end duties. Hopefully he can recover in time for New Orleans' season opener on Sunday, Sept. 11 against the Atlanta Falcons.
The Saints are +4000 (T-No. 17) in FanDuel Sportbook's current Super Bowl odds.
