Rockies Get Great News on Jon Gray Injury Update

The Colorado Rockies have had a rough 2021 season. Between mounting losses and trade rumors around their best player, Trevor Story, Rocky Mountain baseball is in need of some good news.
It looks like they received a small bit of that on Saturday. Starting pitcher Jon Gray was placed on the IL recently for a right flexor strain and his immediate future was in doubt. But thankfully, a recent MRI showed no structural damage.
Rockies News: Jon Gray Injury
So luckily it looks like Gray will only miss a couple of starts and be off the IL when he is first eligible, assuming there are no setbacks between now and then.

Gray is only 4-6 on the season with a 4.29 ERA, so he's not exactly lighting it up, but that also goes for a majority of the Rockies' roster. Anytime you lose one of your core rotation pieces, it's a blow to the team, especially for someone like Grey that has shown flashes in past seasons.
Avoiding a long IL stint for Gray is definitely a welcomed result for the Rockies.
