Redskins Odds to Sign Cam Newton Take Massive Leap After Jaguars Sign Mike Glennon

Cam Newton is inexplicably still without an NFL job. Though the likes of Jameis Winston, Andy Dalton and Mike Glennon have all found new homes recently, Newton's eventual landing spot is still a mystery.

However, taking a look at the latest odds, provided by FanDuel Sportsbook, can help shed some light on where Newton could ultimately end up. And some recent movement suggests he could end up with the Washington Redskins.

While the Jacksonville Jaguars were recently considered the favorites to sign Newton, at -150 as of April 26. However, given that the team just signed Mike Glennon, the Jaguars have since fallen to +300, tying them with the Redskins for the best odds to land Newton.

The Redskins are a really logical landing spot for Newton too. For one, he would be reuniting with head coach Ron Rivera. He'd likely also be given a real shot to win the starting job in Washington.

Dwayne Haskins didn't show much as a rookie, leading the the team to a 2-5 record across his seven starts. On the season, he threw for 1,365 passing yards, 7 touchdowns and 7 interceptions, and he was tied for the second-lowest average yards per attempt (AY/A) among all qualified passers.

With the familiarity at head coach and a potential for significant playing time, Washington makes a ton of sense for Newton, and that's certainly reflected by the odds.
