Red Sox Get Great News With Latest Matt Barnes Injury Update

The Boston Red Sox have had a horrendous July, going 6-16 thus far, dropping to last place in the AL East and sitting at just 49-49 on the season. From sloppy play to poor pitching and hitting, Boston's season is currently in shambles.
Despite this poor play, Boston still sits just 3.5 games back of the last AL Wild Card spot. Reinforcements are on the way for Boston as well in the form of relief pitcher Matt Barnes. He pitched in a rehab game for Double A Portland on Tuesday and recorded a scoreless inning.

Barnes next test will reportedly be to pitch back-to-back days. If all goes well there he will be another step closer to rejoining the big league club.
He hasn't appeared in a game for Boston since May 30. He struggled big time before that to the tune of a 7.94 ERA, but he's a talented pitcher that Red Sox fans should have confidence can bounce back down the stretch.
Boston currently owns +7000 odds to win the 2022 World Series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest odds.
