Red Sox-Braves Highlights: Christian Arroyo Celebrates Grand Slam With Euro Step
Athletes across different leagues sometimes pay homage to their sports brethren with certain nods. Like when a football player dunks over the goalpost following a touchdown, or when a basketball player slings a full-court pass like a quarterback.
Boston Red Sox infielder Christian Arroyo put his own spin the tradition by enacting a euro step (a basketball move) after hitting a go-ahead grand slam against the Atlanta Braves.
Red Sox Highlights
Arroyo hit the euro just before rounding third base and was obviously pumped up after delivering for his team. He was called upon as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning before blasting one to the stands in left field.
Arroyo's slam gave Boston a 10-7 lead and they prevailed 10-8 to pull within a game of first place in the AL East. The infielder has now racked up 4 home runs and 12 RBI this month alone, giving the Red Sox some extra juice as they head into the thick of summer.
