The Baltimore Ravens were without strongside linebacker Justin Houston in Week 4's loss to the Buffalo Bills. He remained a non-participant in Wednesday's practice as he nurses a groin injury.
Fortunately, the team was quick to address this matter with a timely free agent signing.
Baltimore Ravens News
NFL insider Jeremy Fowler reported on Thursday that the Ravens are expected to sign veteran LB A.J. Klein off the New York Giants' practice squad and add him directly to the 53-man roster. He will even begin practicing with the team this week.
Klein spent just a short stay with the Giants. The former Buffalo Bill landed on New York's practice squad Monday in a reunion with former Bills assistant GM Joe Schoen.
The former fifth-round draft pick has yet to appear in a game this year after appearing in 134 games (80 starts) from 2013-2021. The last two of those years were spent with Buffalo, where he was primarily a depth piece.
It'll be interesting if Houston can work back up to strength to log any practices ahead of Week 5. Baltimore's strongside linebacker group is beat up, as David Ojabo remains out with an Achilles tear while both Daelin Hayes and Steven Means are on the IR.
Despite all the injuries to their defense, the Ravens enter a Week 5 divisional clash with the Cincinnati Bengals as 3-point home favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
