Believe it or not, the Oakland Raiders (7-8) could still make the NFL Playoffs, although they need significant help to leapfrog the other AFC contenders.

First, the Raiders need to defeat the Denver Broncos this Sunday as 3.5-point road underdogs heading into Week 17, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Next, the Raiders need the Jacksonville Jaguars, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Tennessee Titans to lose. Finally, the Raiders also need any one of four teams (New England Patriots, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, or Los Angeles Chargers) to win, for tiebreaker purposes.

Raiders Odds to Make Playoffs

Despite losing four of their last five games, including a demoralizing home loss to the Jaguars in last game in Oakland, head coach Jon Gruden and the Raiders kept themselves in the race after beating the Chargers 24-17 in Week 16. The Raiders went 6-4 in their first 10 games, but fell apart after a 34-3 loss to the New York Jets.

The odds do not look very good right now, FanDuel Sportsbook is currently giving them a +1360 shot to make the NFL Playoffs and -5000 odds to miss out. By comparison, the Pittsburgh Steelers are +200 to make the playoffs, even though they need to defeat the Baltimore Ravens and for the Titans to lose.

The Raiders have a minus-105-point differential on the year and would likely be significant underdogs against any team they play in the Wild Card Round. This week's game against the Broncos will also be another audition for starting quarterback Derek Carr, who the Raiders could be looking to replace with a younger talent if available in the 2020 NFL Draft ahead of the franchise's upcoming move to Las Vegas next season.
