The Atlanta Falcons had a terrible start to the 2020 season, going 0-5 under head coach Dan Quinn. Atlanta's five straight losses ended up getting Quinn fired, and defensive coordinator Raheem Morris was elevated to interim head coach.

Morris was honest about his team's poor performance under Quinn that eventually got the head coach fired.

Morris is obviously sad that the man who brought him to Atlanta is gone, but it has provided the defensive coordinator an opportunity to interview for the Falcons' head-coaching gig.

"The truth was we had failed that man miserably through the first five games. And that’s the cost of what happens and the cost of doing business."

Morris joined Quinn's staff in 2015 as an assistant before being elevated to defensive coordinator this season. After firing Quinn, the Falcons have gone 4-2 under Morris, giving them a 4-7 record this year.

The Falcons' early struggles have given them little shot at making the playoffs, and they have a brutal schedule of upcoming opponents, but how the team closes the season out under Morris could be a determining factor in bringing him back on a permanent basis as head coach.

Atlanta will host the New Orleans Saints in Week 13.
