Seemingly everyone around the NFL has an opinion on Aaron Rodgers' current trade drama with the Green Bay Packers. Former teammates have weighed in, oddsmakers have too, but no one truly knows how this situation will be resolved.
Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning is the latest notable person to give his take on what Rodgers and the Packers should do.
Manning expressed his hopes that Rodgers sticks around in Green Bay instead of being traded elsewhere. The legendary QB's comments are intriguing since he switched teams later in his career and found success after the move.
"When I think of Aaron, I think of him as a Green Bay Packer... Hopefully, they can get it worked out. I look forward to seeing him play this year somewhere."- Peyton Manning
However, given what Manning has been up to this offseason, perhaps his stance isn't surprising at all. He's reportedly mentoring current Denver Broncos QB Drew Lock ahead of a possible competition with Teddy Bridgewater.
And Denver is the rumored frontrunner to acquire Rodgers, so it makes sense Manning would advocate for Rodgers to stay in order to give Lock a fair chance at earning the starting gig.
It appears we're not any closer to finding out how this situation ultimately resolves itself, as experts believe the drama could drag long into the offseason. But the Rodgers-Packers takes are sure to keep coming this summer.
