Pepsi Zero Sugar Super Bowl 2023 Commercial Provides Acting Lessons From Steve Martin and Ben Stiller

Another Super Bowl is upon us, which means plenty star-studded commercials are on the way. Pepsi Zero Sugar is running two ads this year, with each one featuring a comedy legend in Steve Martin and Ben Stiller.

Each Pepsi Zero Sugar ad asks the important question: What's real, and what's acting? Martin and Stiller both then run the gambit of various roles to show how they're able to make every scene they're in believable.

Martin flashes his range by going from a doctor, to a frustrated person in line, to a disappointed restaurant-goer, all while keeping his authenticity throughout. Stiller similarly dazzles, starring in a superhero-like action scene before playing a lovable astronaut and even reprising his famous character, Derek Zoolander.

Both comedy stars also try Pepsi Zero Sugar and remark how good it is. But then they ask, "Or was I just acting?" before telling the audience they'll have to try it for themselves.

This is a very entertaining, and effective, ad from Pepsi. Getting two acting legends who are extremely respected for their character work is smart. Obviously people are supposed to think they're "just acting" when they say Pepsi Zero Sugar is good. However, this then makes the audience want to try it out for themselves and see if their reactions were genuine, which is the whole point.

With Martin and Stiller bringing the laughs, this commercial is sure to be a hit on Sunday.
