During the first half of the Thursday night game against the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes injured his knee on a quarterback sneak. While he is expected to miss some games, the feeling around the organization is optimistic that it is not season ending.

When cameras were on the reigning MVP after the play, they caught trainers popping his knee back into place, which we later found out was a dislocated kneecap. After walking to the x-ray room himself, Mahomes was ruled out for the game in just a couple minutes.

Before knowing the results of the MRI, the team believes Mahomes will miss three games, which would put him on track to return for Monday Night Football against the Los Angeles Chargers, one game before Kansas City's bye week.

While Mahomes and trainers feel it was a clean dislocation, the MRI will pick up any ligament damage. Of course, if there happens to be a ligament tear, it would prematurely end the MVP's season.

Mahomes will undergo his MRI on Friday and which will provide us a more concrete update and outlook. In his absence, Matt Moore is expected to continue taking snaps, after he preserved the lead and got the win last night.
