Following a historic first year as a starter, in which he totaled 5,097 passing yards and threw for 50 touchdowns, Patrick Mahomes has shown no signs of slowing down this season. He is already up to 1,195 passing yards and 11 TDs to zero picks through three games, proving that anyone who predicted a statistical regression was dead wrong, at least for the time being.

Now, as if it was even fathomable, Patrick Mahomes could potentially reach a new level of prolific fantasy scoring in Week 4. For the first time in his NFL career, Mahomes is playing in a dome.

While he's had no issue airing it out in the crisp air of Arrowhead Stadium, or when visiting other outdoor opponents, Mahomes will now enter a weather-free environment on the fast track at Ford Field, as the Chiefs visit the Detroit Lions in Week 4.

Against this Chiefs offense in particular, the conditions at Ford Field could pose a problem for Detroit defenders. An offense built on speed, receivers like Sammy Watkins, Mecole Hardman and Demarcus Robinson should get plenty of chances to make splash plays against the Lions, who are allowing the 11th-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers.

While the Lions employ one of the league's best cover corners in Darius Slay, Mahomes simply might have too many options at his disposal for the Detroit defensive back to have a real impact. Along with Travis Kelce and a increasingly healthy LeSean McCoy, the Chiefs offense will be a lot for the Lions this Sunday in a game with Week 4's highest total, 54.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Mahomes is the surefire QB1 heading into almost any Sunday, but inside the dome in Detroit, we could see an extra-special performance.
