The 2022 MLB All-Star Game is less than two weeks away, bringing several exciting activities for baseball fans to lose themselves in. While a lot of attention will be on attractions like the Home Run Derby, fans will also be treated to the stars of tomorrow during the MLB All-Star Futures Game

The Houston Astros have given their fanbase plenty to cheer about this season and that won't stop anytime soon. With the MLB announcing the Futures Game rosters on Thursday, it's been revealed that the Astros will have two prospects representing them at the event.

Triple-A Sugar Land catcher Yainer Diaz will be one of the Astros' prospects taking part in the Futures Game festivities. The other is none other than fellow Space Cowboys teammate Hunter Brown.

Diaz began the 2022 season in Double-A but quickly played his way to a promotion on June 21 after racking up nine home runs and 48 RBIs while batting .316 in 57 games with the Corpus Christi Hooks. The 23-year-old has since recorded four HRs, 13 RBIs and a .240 batting average in 13 games since his call-up.

Meanwhile, Brown has been grabbing his own headlines with Sugar Land. Making real strides in his development, the former Wayne State product is 6-3 in 16 games (11 starts) thus far, pitching to a 2.63 ERA while averaging 12.1 strikeouts per nine innings.

Diaz and Brown have all the tools to be core parts of the Astros' core going forward. Strong performances at the All-Star Futures Game would be a great way to solidify their spots in the organization.

The 2022 MLB All-Star Futures Game takes place at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday, July 16 at 7 p.m. ET.
