With the San Diego Padres facing elimination, they're shaking up their lineup for Game 5 of the NLCS against the Philadelphia Phillies. Second baseman Jake Cronenworth will move up to the cleanup spot after batting fifth in Game 4.

Padres Game 5 Lineup

Manager Bob Melvin is hoping to give his team a spark by penciling in Cronenworth at the cleanup spot. It's an interested decision given that the two-time All-Star went 0-for-3 in Game 4 and is batting just .214/.313/.214 in the series.

Cronenworth didn't have much success batting fourth during the regular season, either, hitting only .240/.339/.380 in 14 games there.

Perhaps Melvin is trying to replicate his strategy from Game 2 -- San Diego's lone win in the series. Cronenworth batted cleanup in that game and went 1-for-4 with a run scored.

Padres fans can only hope that this move gets Cronenworth's bat going and helps the Padres force Game 6. San Diego is currently a +120 underdog for Game 5 on FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds.
