All eyes will be on the Green Bay Packers' wide receivers to see how they perform in Week 1. There's extra pressure on this unproven group after the departure of Davante Adams, and who ultimately steps up as the WR1 has been a huge storyline throughout the offseason.

It turns out, though, one top target is now potentially in danger of missing the season-opener against the Minnesota Vikings.

Allen Lazard Injury Update

Head coach Matt LaFleur was "non-committal" on Allen Lazard playing in Week 1 when talking to beat writers on Monday. The wideout was sidelined from practice last week for reasons that weren't made clear, and it appears that unknown issue could keep him out of the first contest.

This would certainly be a huge blow to Aaron Rodgers' pass-catching corps ahead of a clash against Minnesota. Rodgers has touted Lazard as the heir apparent to Adams all offseason, but now it's not a guarantee the fifth-year pro even suits up.

If it's an injury holding up Lazard, he wouldn't be the only wideout nursing an ailment. Rookie Christian Watson is working his way back from a knee procedure this offseason. Though the second-round pick is on track to suit up in Week 1, he has to get up to speed after missing a large chunk of practice, putting him at a disadvantage to start the year.

Veterans Sammy Watkins and Randall Cobb may end up shouldering the receiving load for Green Bay against the Vikings. Rookie Romeo Doubs, who was a standout in training camp, could also make his case for a bigger role from the jump with a strong outing.

FanDuel Sportsbook's Week 1 NFL odds peg the Packers as 2.5-point favorites over Minnesota ahead of Sunday's matchup.
