As uncertainty surrounds Aaron Rodgers' future with the Green Bay Packers, backup quarterback Jordan Love continues to take snaps at the team's minicamp. Observers are wondering how Love will look if he does take over as starter, given he once drew comparisons to Patrick Mahomes during the pre-draft process. While those are some sky-high expectations to live up to, the young signal-caller isn't hiding from them.
When asked this week about the Mahomes comparisons, Love said that the two are comparable when it comes to deep passes and making plays. Even if he doesn't mirror Mahomes' career, you have to applaud the 22-year-old's confidence.

Considering how there's no telling as to whether or not Rodgers will be under center for the Packers when Week 1 rolls around, the team would probably love for Love to have a Mahomes-like season. After all, the Kansas City Chiefs signal-caller did throw for over 5,000 yards and exactly 50 touchdowns in his first full NFL season.
Love didn't get to see the field once in the 2020 NFL season, meaning the last time he played a meaningful football game was as a member of the Utah State Aggies back in the 2019 campaign. Love finished that year with 3,402 passing yards and 20 touchdowns to 17 interceptions. Needless to say, Green Baby management hopes to see a better TD-to-INT ratio whenever he does make his professional debut.
The Packers currently have the 8th-best odds to win Super Bowl 56 at +1700, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. If the team wants to improve those odds, Love may have to pull a couple of pages out of Mahomes' playbook.
