The Green Bay Packers' road to the Super Bowl ended earlier than expected thanks to an awful special teams performance in the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs. Green Bay quickly addressed the issue by firing special teams coordinator Maurice Drayton after just one season.

Now, the Packers are eyeing a perfect candidate for his replacement.

Rich Bisaccia Packers

Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that head coach Matt LaFleur has been in discussions with Las Vegas Raiders special teams coach/interim head coach Rich Bisaccia for the the open ST role.

Bisaccia has been lauded for his role with the Raiders, specifically since taking over as interim head coach midway through this past season. He led the tumultuous franchise to a 7-5 finish and their first playoff appearance since 2016.

Las Vegas opted to hire Josh McDaniels as their next coach instead of letting Bisaccia take over on a full-time basis, but it's left an awesome opportunity for the Packers.

Green Bay ranked 31st in special teams efficiency during the regular season, while going through two different long-snappers and a career-high 9 missed field goal attempts from veteran placekicker Mason Crosby.

Green Bay's coaching staff will certainly have a new feel on their chase to the Super Bowl next season with Adam Stenavich being promoted to replace Nathaniel Hackett as offensive coordinator. The Packers hold +1500 odds to win the Super Bowl next season on FanDuel Sportsbook.
