Packers Get Disappointing News on Fullback John Lovett's Injury Update
The Green Bay Packers got disappointing news regarding the injury to fullback/tight end John Lovett. It was announced that he is officially out for the season, due to a torn ACL.
While Lovett is not a well-known name, he is one of the quiet contributors for the Packers. Through nine weeks, he has mostly been a special team contributor. He has registers four tackles and returned one kick for five yards.
Lovett has also played a few snaps in every game, aside from the Week 8 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. He played 45 total offensive snaps, run blocking on 27 of the plays.
The Week 9 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers was the first game where Lovett saw offensive touches. He was given three carries, which he took for six yards.
Lovett went undrafted out of Princeton in 2019. At Princeton, Lovett was used as a quarterback, running back and wide receiver. He totaled 1,833 yards, 18 touchdowns and three interceptions through the air his senior year, while added another 894 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground.
