The Cleveland Browns' issues on the offensive line have been well documented. On average, the unit gave Baker Mayfield just 2.3 seconds in the pocket before it collapsed, putting Cleveland in a five-way tie for the worst such mark in the NFL.

If this team wants to be a legitimate postseason contender in its first year under Kevin Stefanski, the Browns will likely need to upgrade that unit. With that in mind, here are three offensive lineman the team should target in free agency.

1. Joe Thuney, Guard, New England Patriots

Joe Thuney is one of the most dependable guards in the league, having led the New England Patriots in snaps in back-to-back seasons. He also posted the second-highest pass block win rate among all guards in 2019. That combination of durability and dominance is going to make him an expensive acquisition, but the Browns have the ninth-most cap space in the NFL and should be able to afford him.

2. Greg Van Roten

If the Browns aren't looking to break the bank, however, Greg Van Roten would be a great alternative. At 30 years old, Van Roten is still a solid player who would provide an upgrade on the interior. His price tag will likely be driven down by injury concerns (he missed five games in 2019) and signing him could allow Cleveland to make improvements elsewhere.

3. Jack Conklin

Jack Conklin was named first team All Pro as a rookie in 2016, and he's been a top-tier tackle since entering the league. He overcame an injury-riddled 2018 campaign (seven games missed) to finish with the eighth-highest pass block win rate among all tackles in 2019. Still just 25 years old, Conklin is likely going to command a massive deal this offseason. If Cleveland can make the money work, Conklin could instantly take this offensive line to the next level.
