Even though we're still a month away from March, the madness has certainly been abundant in the college basketball regular season. Currently, the Gonzaga Bulldogs (+900) and Kansas Jayhawks (+900) are tied atop the odds to win the 2019-20 NCAA Men's Basketball National Championship, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
Gonzaga has been about as consistent as it gets in college basketball this season, with the Bulldogs' only loss coming in blowout fashion to Michigan back in November. The Bulldogs opened the season with +1600 odds to win it all, and they have only risen from there.
Kansas has seen a tougher strength of schedule, but the Jayhawks' three losses are still a bit unusual for a team atop the odds at this point in the season. It goes to show just how chaotic this basketball season has been so far, with six of the top 10-ranked teams having already lost at least three games.
Duke and Kentucky opened the season as the betting favorites, tied at +800 odds. But now, Duke has fallen slightly to +1100, while Kentucky has seen an even greater drop to +2200.
Rounding out the top 5 in odds to win the 2020 March Madness Tournament is Baylor (+1000) and Louisville (+1200). Meanwhile, Dayton (+1800) and San Diego State (+2000) have been both steady risers and the biggest surprises of the season thus far, climbing from +12000 and +15000 odds of winning it all, respectively, when the season began.
