Nick Bosa was the first defensive player off the board in the 2019 NFL Draft, and he's also the favorite to win the Defensive Rookie of the Year, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. He's currently available at +550, but Bosa will likely face some strong competition from this year's crop of defensive rookies.
Following Bosa, linebackers Devin White and Josh Allen are both listed at +700. Both prospects were drafted in the top 10 this April and figure to play major roles for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars, respectively.
Quinnen Williams, who the New York Jets selected at No. 3 overall, surprisingly has the fifth-best odds at +1100. Considering Williams and Bosa were widely considered the two best defensive lineman in the class, it's interesting their odds are so far apart to win this award.
As for the long shots, Clelin Ferrell, the No. 4 pick in the NFL Draft, is available at +2200. Ferrell should step into a significant role on an Oakland Raiders' pass rush that is in need of a serious upgrade in talent. If Ferrell impresses, he's likely going to be in the running for the Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Even though Bosa is currently the favorite to win the 2019 Defensive Rookie of the Year, he'll likely face some strong competition from the likes of Allen, Williams and White.
