Clayton Kershaw has been arguably the best pitcher in baseball for the past decade or so. Every time he took the mound, the Dodgers were put in a position to win as evidenced by the left-hander's career 158-69 record. And despite Kershaw having seemingly lost a step recently, the results say otherwise.

In Kershaw's last 17 regular-season starts, dating back to last season, the Dodgers are a perfect 17-0.

With Kershaw taking the mound against the San Francisco Giants on Friday night, there's an additional layer to this, if you're planning on placing a wager on the game. The Giants are 0-11 in their last 11 home games coming off a road trip, dating back to last season. And, you guessed it, tonight marks the Giants' first game of an eight-game homestand.

So if recent history tells us anything, the Dodgers have all the numbers working in their favor to pull off a win this Friday night.
