The Notre Dame Fighting Irish haven't beaten the Clemson Tigers since 1977 across their four all-time meetings, but it certainly doesn't look like the oddsmakers believe that 2020 is going to be year that bucks this trend either.
Even with the 2020 college football offseason experiencing some unprecedented spring delays and cancellations, the odds and spreads around more than 100 of this fall's biggest matchups are now available on FanDuel Sportsbook.
ND vs Clemson Spread 2020
Sitting months away from the fifth all-time meeting between these two heavyweight college football programs, Clemson has already opened as a convincing 7-point favorite to beat the Fighting Irish on the road in South Bend later this fall, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
The last time Notre Dame and Clemson met on the field was in the 2019 College Football Playoff Semifinal, and it didn't leave much room for debate. The Tigers absolutely walloped the Fighting Irish in that Cotton Bowl Classic, 30-3, which actually featured both starting QBs from each team that will also be taking the field in this 2020 rematch.
Clemson's Trevor Lawrence and Notre Dame's Ian Book have both led their respective programs to immense success since taking over starting responsibilities, with Book leading the Irish to a 19-3 record as a starter and Lawrence taking the Tigers to back-to-back CFP National Championship appearances.
There's still plenty of time for things to change between now and this 2020 rivalry kickoff, but the Tigers remain compelling early favorites for the time being. Barring any scheduling changes we may see, Notre Dame is currently set to host Clemson at Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020.
