The Baltimore Ravens suffered a disappointing loss in Week 10 to the New England Patriots. Making things worse, tight end Nick Boyle had to leave the game in the third quarter after suffering a gruesome knee injury.
On Monday, news came that Boyle will miss the rest of the season.
Boyle provided a much-needed blocking presence to the Ravens offense. The tight end has played in each of Baltimore's nine games this season, registering 14 receptions, 113 yards, and 2 touchdowns.
Boyle was coming off one of his best outings of the year in Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts, in which he grabbed four catches for 46 yards in the Ravens' 24-10 win.
This injury will put more pressure on starting tight end Mark Andrews to step up in Boyle's absence. After seeing fewer than 9 targets in each of the past three games, Andrews saw 9 targets against the Patriots, hauling in 7 catches for 61 yards. However, the main receiving option at tight end hasn't caught a touchdown since Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Andrews has accounted for 5 touchdowns this season.
