Wait, do the Minnesota Vikings have a new quarterback? No, but the NFL Shop recently posted a graphic advertising a jersey for "Kirk Cousin," an embarrassing typo that Vikings fans on Reddit quickly noticed.
The actual jersey, presumably, has the correct spelling, but it appears someone writing ad copy for the website may have posted the image a little too quickly.
Of course, Vikings fans immediately complained about the disrespect to their starting quarterback in the comment section.
Reddit user u/SolarVortex13 posted a screen capture of the mistake to the r/minnesotavikings subreddit, but the spelling error has since been corrected to "Kirk Cousins" on the website, so the mistake is no longer live. Somebody at the NFL Shop noticed.
Kirk Cousins has been the Vikings' starting quarterback for the last two seasons and played in the NFL since 2012, so this is hardly an excusable typo. While his inconsistency has hurt him at times, he did out-duel Drew Brees in the NFL Playoffs last season to post a career-high passer rating of 107.6.
The Vikings are projected to be about a coin-flip to make the playoffs next season, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Who knows, maybe another strong season from Cousins would go a long way to reducing the number of typos involving his name and win over more supporters for his huge three-year, $84 million contract.
Cousins has already signed an extension going into 2022, so there's plenty of time for fans to buy his jersey. However, if you want to order a custom "Cousin" jersey as a family joke, there's now ample justification to do so.
