NFL Executive Reveals Packers' Potential Return From Aaron Rodgers Trade

The Green Bay Packers enter yet another offseason with major question marks surrounding Aaron Rodgers' future. Considering Rogers is under contract until 2025, the franchise really has four decisions. He either comes back happy, the franchise trades him to a different franchise, or he's cut or retires.

If the Packers chose the trade route, fans are curious about what sort of return they can expect from the aging star quarterback. One anonymous NFL executive spoke with Packers insider Bill Huber to outline a potential return package.

Rodgers' trade value isn't nearly as high as it once was. He's turning 40 during the season in 2023 and is fresh off one of the worst statistical years in his lengthy career. There's also the huge cap hit that any new team would take on next year, but there's no denying the talents of a 10-time Pro Bowler and the NFL MVP in both 2020 and 2021.

"I think there’s enough teams that are desperate enough that they would probably give up more than they should. I would say the best-case scenario is a 1 just because he’s so talented. He didn’t play great this year but there’s still flashes of brilliance" said this executive.

This executive goes on to explain that asking for more than a first-rounder is where the situation becomes tricky. Would Packers fans and the franchise be ok parting ways with Aaron Rodgers for a first-round draft pick and the escape from his massive contract?
