March Madness is right around the corner, which means college basketball's conference tournament season is here! One of the biggest getting underway in the first week of March is the Northeast Conference (NEC) Tournament.

Here's everything NCAA basketball fans and bettors need to know about the 2022 NEC Tournament.

The 2022 NEC Tournament tipped off with its first game at 7 p.m. on Monday, February 28.

The tournament will take place at Chace Athletic Center in Smithfield, Rhode Island.

NEC Tournament Prediction

The NEC was hardly competitive this season, with the Bryant Bulldogs (16-2) and Wagner Seahawks (15-3) owning the best conference records.

Out of the two schools, Wagner was much better defensively. After all, the Seahawks finished with the 64th-best scoring defense (65.9 PPG) in the nation, while the Bulldogs enter the tournament after allowing 75.2 PPG (No. 299).

Offensively, both schools were among the best in the NCAA. Bryant was a top-30 when it comes to scoring the ball, averaging 77.0 PPG (No. 28). While Wagner doesn't rank that high, their 73.9 PPG (No. 77) is a more than acceptable rate.

Taking the above into account, Wagner figures to be the better pick to win the NEC Tournament. While Bryant has a great chance to win as well, the Seahawks are the more complete team, which should pay off as the tournament goes on.
