With the NBA All-Star break approaching, we are getting a clearer picture of who the contenders and pretenders are. This is true of both the teams and the star players, which has helped shape the competition for the NBA MVP award. Reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is favored to repeat, with his odds surging to -390 on FanDuel Sportsbook. As Giannis' odds continue to improve, the odds for both James Harden and Luka Doncic are falling.

Giannis has put together yet another terrific season, averaging 30.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1,1 blocks and 1.1 steals per game. He has led the Milwaukee Bucks to a league-best 46-7 record, and he's shown no signs of slowing down.

James Harden MVP Odds

Harden, the prolific scorer for the Houston Rockets, has seen his odds to win the MVP award fall to +1100, putting him fourth overall. He averages a league-best 35.2 points per game (PPG), but this average has dropped to 27.4 PPG over his past eight games. This coincides with teammate Russell Westbrook posting improved numbers, averaging 35.7 PPG over his past seven (compared to a season average of 27.0).

Luka Doncic MVP Odds

Luka Doncic has also seen his MVP odds drop, down to +700, which is tied as second-best with LeBron James. Luka has put together a tremendous stat line, averaging 28.8 points, 9.5 rebounds, 8.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game. However, his odds have seen a drop since he has been unable to take the court since Jan. 28, due to an ankle injury.
