The Golden State Warriors may have fashioned one of the NBA's most dominant dynasties over the past five years, but as they approach the 2019 NBA Finals, it's the weeks following that could ultimately see their empire come crashing down.

Three of the Warriors' five stars are set to be unrestricted free agents this summer, making them free to sign a contract with whichever team they so choose. Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, and DeMarcus Cousins will all have the opportunity to choose their new homes this offseason, so let's take a look at where each of them could end up.

The Warriors do not own Cousins' Bird rights, thus making them unable to go over the salary cap in order to resign the All-Star big man this summer. In other words, unless Cousins wants to take a major pay cut for the second straight year, Cousins is as good as gone in Golden State. Prior to tearing his quad a couple weeks ago, Cousins could have been looking at a big pay day, but now he might have to settle for a smaller, short-term deal again. There should be plenty of suitors like the Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks or either of the Los Angeles teams in the Clippers and Lakers. For the Lakers, he could be a cheaper way to get as much talent around LeBron James as possible, especially if they're unable to trade for Anthony Davis.

Klay Thompson, whenever asked about it, has been adamant about his desire and intention to remain a member of the Warriors. And that's exactly what he'll likely end up doing. He's with the team that drafted him as the perfect sidekick to Steph Curry, and given the Warriors do own his Bird rights, they can offer him an additional year on his contract that comes along with tens of millions more dollars.

While there has been much speculation for months now about Durant's ultimate landing spot this summer, as the days go by, the New York Knicks have seemingly become the most likely landing spot. Much like when LeBron signed with the Lakers last summer, for the first time in his career, Durant's decision will be influenced by things outside of basketball, which is exactly why New York is where he could end up. You will be hard pressed to find any player, agent or executive with knowledge of the situation that doesn't predict Durant will sign with the Knicks. For a player that was widely criticized for joining a loaded roster to compete for rings with Golden State, winning a championship in New York could provide him with the ultimate legacy as one of the legends of the game.
